Cabuy is a rectangular table that translates the monumentality of architectural cantilevers into a functional object. The design is defined by a powerful composition of solid volumes, with the tabletop resting like a floating plane on a base of two statically conceived columns. The table conveys a sense of stability and weight, yet a poetic tension emerges in the refined detailing of the joints and the materiality of the wood. The layered construction emphasizes the dialogue between support and being supported: a fundamental architectural principle made tangible in furniture form. Cabuy transcends purely functional, as a dining table or desk, it becomes a central gathering point. Yet its sculptural presence also allows it to exist as an autonomous object within the space. The strict rationality of the volumes is softened by the tactility and grain of the wood, creating a balance between robustness and refinement.

As with every piece in the 5.8 collection, Cabuy is based on a proportional system in which the unit of 5.8 centimeters forms the foundation. This generates an internal harmony that is felt in the relationship between the tabletop, supports, and volumes.

Cabuy is more than a table. It is an architectural statement that unites strength, calm, and sophistication.
